KEENE, N.H. – Four first half goals were more than enough as Keene State extended its winning streak to four games, as the Owls defeated visiting UMass Dartmouth 4-0 in Little East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

Keene State's Taylor Farland (Fiskdale, Mass.) got the scoring started in the 20th minute of play, when she received the Kali Santino (West Chesterfield, N.H.) and put in the top right corner of the cage. Katie Silegy (Keene, N.H.) extended the Owls lead to 2-0 nine minutes later when she chipped the breakout pass from Chloe Loos (Weare, N.H.) over the right side of Corsair keeper Becca Field (Brentwood, N.H.).

The Corsairs proceed to foot excellent scoring opportunities a few minutes later, when they secured a free kick just a few yards out of the box, but the shot sailed wide of the net.

Farland would add another goal 90 seconds later, ricocheting off a UMass Dartmouth player, and into the net. The Owls would tack on one more goal before halftime when Quinn Dorogi (West Boylston, Mass.) fired a shot from 25 yards out to cap the afternoon's tallies.

UMass Dartmouth had two good chances in the second half, when Jennifer Woehl (Middleton, R.I.) put two shots on net, but the Owl goalkeeper Danielle Warhal (Spofford, N.H. corralled both opportunities.

Inside the Numbers

  • Field and junior Madison Boucher (Southampton, Mass.) split time in net for the Corsairs, with Boucher stopping five shots in the second half.
  • Warhall collected five saves on the afternoon to gather the decision for Keene State.
  • The Owls outshot UMass Dartmouth 19-8, while the Corsairs held the slight advantage in corners (2-1).
