WORCESTER, MA-Tiffany Rotatori scored three goals to lead host Worcester State to a 4-0 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's soccer team in a non-conference match at Coughlin Field Tuesday evening.
Rotatori broke a scoreless tie in the 18th minute when she chipped a rebound past UMass sophomore goalkeeper Tanya Braga (Hudson, MA/Hudson HS) into the net. She scored again in the 33rd minute, converting a pass from Katelyn Bonetti to give the Lancers a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Worcester State scored twice in the waning moments of the match. Amanda Beaudet converted a pass from Stephanie Demake to make it 3-0 at the 82:00 mark, then Rotatori scored her third goal of the contest, taking a pass from Bonetti and breaking in alone on goal with 4:46 remaining.
The Lancers out shot the Corsairs, 28-11. Braga made 13 saves, while Rachael Armenti made five for Worcester State in earning the shutout.
UMass Dartmouth dropped to 4-8-4 with the defeat, while WSC improved to 10-5-1 with the victory. The Corsairs will return to action when they host Eastern Connecticut State on Senior Day Saturday.
