NEW LONDON, CT-Katelyn Driscoll scored 3:15 into sudden-death overtime to give host Connecticut College a 2-1 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's soccer team in a non-conference match at Tempel Green Tuesday.
Junior defender Nichole Hoffman (Stoughton, MA/Stoughton HS) headed home a cross by senior defender Kelsey Boothby (Holbrook, MA/Holbrook HS) 4:57 into the second half to give the Corsairs a 1-0 lead. Chelsea Johnson tied it for the Camels on a penalty kick in the 83rd minute.
CC out shot UMD, 27-10. Junior goalkeeper Tanya Braga (Hudson, MA/Hudson HS) made 16 saves for the Corsairs, while the Camels' duo of Amy Lowitt and Bailey Andrews combined for nine.
UMass Dartmouth dropped to 4-4 with the defeat, while CC improved to 3-2 with the victory\. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit UMass Boston Saturday.
