KEENE, NH-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's soccer team fell to host Keene State, 5-1, in a Little East Conference match at the Owl Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.
Freshman forward Erica Jonasson (Wrentham, MA/Tri-County HS) put UMass Dartmouth on the board first, scoring unassisted in the third minute. However, the Owls' Katie Bradford tied the score in the 15th minute, and Jessica Berthiaume scored the game winning goal just over two minutes later. Bradford scored unassisted in the 22nd minute, and then scored twice in the second half, finishing with four Keene State's five goals.
"Keene State us a very good team," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Nicole Hanewich. "We came out on fire and scored the first goal of the game.. We played hard, but they are very good."
The Owls outshot the Corsairs, 17-2. Senior goalkeeper Tanya Braga (Hudson, MA/Hudson HS) five saves for UMD.
UMass Dartmouth fell to 3-9-0 and 0-4-0 in the Little East Conference with the loss, while Keene State improved to 9-3-2 and 3-1-0 with the victory. The Corsairs will return to action when they host MCLA Monday.
