Women's Swimmers Win at Plymouth State
PLYMOUTH, NH-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's swimming team defeated host Plymouth State, 144-114, at the PSU Physical Education Center Saturday.
Winners included freshman Caroline Corcoran (West Boylston, MA/ West Boylston), who won the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:35.11 and the 100 yard freestyle in 59.68 seconds, senior Meredith Maki (Holden, MA/ Wachusett Regional HS), who took the 200 freestyle in 2:06.94 and the 100 backstroke in 1:06.53, junior Katelyn Kidney (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical), who won the 100 yard butterfly in 1:05.48 and the 50 yard butterfly in 29.92 seconds, senior Morgan Cooper (Sunderland, MA/Frontier Regional HS), who won the 50 freestyle in 27.88 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:34.53, and senior Maggie Conlon (Methuen, MA/Methuen HS), who won the 50 yard breaststroke in 35.81 seconds. The 200 medley relay team of Maki, Corcoran, Kidney and Cooper finished first in 2:02.94.
UMass Dartmouth's women are now 7-3, while PSU is now 3-6. The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Colby-Sawyer next Saturday.
