NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Senior Morgan Cooper (Sunderland, MA/Frontier Regional HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's swimming team has been honored by the Little East Conference.
Cooper has been named LEC Swimmer of the Week.
Against Plymouth State last Saturday, Cooper won the 50 yard freestyle in 27.88 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:34.53. She also was a member of the 200 medley relay team that finished first in 2:02.94. Against Gordon, she won the 100 yard freestyle in 57.37 seconds and the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:13.40, and was a member of the 200 medley relay team that took first place in 2:01.48.
"We are very excited to hear about Morgan being named LEC Swimmer of the Week." said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "Morgan is a dedicated swimmer and competitor. She really stepped it up this week, competing in some events that are not typically the ones she races in at meets. Morgan is a great team player and role model for her fellow swimmers."
The Corsairs will return to action when they visit Colby-Sawyer next Saturday.
