BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team fell to Simmons College on Tuesday evening, 155 to 81.
Senior Katelyn Kidney (Lynn, Mass.) and freshman Kendra Hebert (Lowell, Mass.) both earned first place finishes for the visiting team. The senior was awarded top honors in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:38.32) and the 200 yard butterfly (2:22.42), while Hebert earned the top spot in the one and three meter diving events.
Freshman Kayla Flanagan (Fairhaven, Mass.) took second in the 200 yard individual medley and the 200 yard backstroke with finishing times of 2:23.70 and 2:20.77. Junior Brooke Garvey (North Billerica, Mass.) placed just behind Hebert in both diving events, while Kerryn Kane (Arlington, Mass.) finished with a third place time of 2:52.49 in the 200 yard breaststroke.
The Lady Corsairs have a quick turnaround as both the men and women's teams host Gordon College on Thursday at 6 p.m.
