Kidney and Hebert Lead Corsairs to Victory
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Senior Katelyn Kidney (Lynn, Mass.) and freshman Kendra Hebert (Lowell, Mass.) each captured three first place finishes to lead the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team to a 155-122 victory over Plymouth State University on Saturday afternoon at the Natatorium.
Flanagan took the top honor in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:38.21), 100 yard butterfly (1:05.78) and the 100 yard freestyle (1:00.46), while Hebert was victorious in the 50 yard freestyle (28.63) and both the one meter (205.80) and three meter (237.20) diving events.
Senior Kerryn Kane (Arlington, Mass.) and freshman Kayla Flanagan (Fairhaven, Mass.) each won two events as well. Kane earned first place in the 50 yard and 100 yard breaststroke events with times of 36.45 and 1:20.06, while Flanagan defeated the field in the 50 yard butterfly (29.83) and the 100 yard backstroke (1:05.49). Sophomore Caissie Niles (Raynham, Mass.) was the first swimmer to touch the wall in the 50 yard backstroke with a finishing time of 32.27.
The Corsairs return to the pool on Saturday, Feb. 1 when they host Colby-Sawyer at 1 p.m.
