BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – UMass Dartmouth's Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams kicked off the 2016-17 season with seven first place finishes at the annual Michael Arsenault Memorial Relays, hosted by Bridgewater State on Saturday afternoon.
How it Happened
UMass Dartmouth kicked off the unscored event by taking first place in the 400-yard medley in the women's division. The grouping of Brienna Harrison (Lakeville, Mass.), Sarah Murphy (Braintree, Mass.), Jillian Boyle (Westport, Mass.), and Yulyssa Diaz (Dorchester, Mass.) beat out Bridgewater Statewith a time of 4:31.60.

It wasn't until the 300-yard backstroke crescendo relay that the men would secure their first win. The combination of Stephen Yezukevcz (Barnstable, Mass.), David Adamski (Wibraham, Mass.), Riley Palmer (Montague, Mass.) and Robert Muir (Barnstable, Mass.) was able to break the string of second place finishes by the squad.
Joseph Bonifacio (West Springfield, Mass.), Dillan Whyte (Wrentham, Mass.), Nathaniel Groz (Lowell, Mass.) and Anthony Toscano (Massapequa, N.Y.) then claimed the 300-yard breaststroke relay
In the diving portion of the event, senior Kendra Herbert (Lowell, Mass.) took second place in the 1-meter dive, the lone diving event on the afternoon, with a score of 95.37.
