Women's Swimming & Diving Posts 143-101 Victory At Plymouth State

PLYMOUTH, N.H. --  The UMass Dartmouth women’s swimming & diving team closed out its regular season schedule with a 143-101 dual-meet victory over Plymouth State Saturday afternoon at the PSU Natatorium.

Juniors Sarah Murphy (Braintree, Mass.) and Molly Harrington (Tewksbury, Mass.) each posted a trio of individual victories on the day for the visiting Corsairs (2-8), as Murphy captured first place in the 50 (35.98) and 200 (2:42.45) yard breaststroke as well as in the 1,000 yard freestyle (11:43.10).  Harrington took top honors in the 50 (26.86) and 100 (1:01.16) yard freestyle along with the 50 yard backstroke (30.87) for UMass Dartmouth, which also received a pair of wins from junior Abigail Wilson (Newburyport, Mass.) in the 50 (28.92) and 100 yard butterfly (1:07.78).

Freshman Maddie Kovach (Oxford, Conn.) joined Murphy and Harrington in collecting three event wins for the visitors, as she claimed the top spot in the 100 yard individual medley (1:07.63), 200 yard backstroke (2:20.35) and 500 yard freestyle (5:48.64).  Kovach, Murphy, Wilson and junior Kayla Lovy (Londonderry, N.H.) comprised the Corsairs’ winning quartet in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:05.81.

UMass Dartmouth will be idle until Saturday, February 9th when the Corsairs host the 2019 Little East Conference Championships at the Tripp Natatorium beginning at Noon.
