Women's Swimming & Diving Drops Dual Meet Decision To Roger Williams

DARTMOUTH, Mass. --  Both UMass Dartmouth men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams dropped respective dual-meet decisions to Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon at the Tripp Natatorium, as the Corsair men fell to the Hawks by a 201-96 margin while the Corsair women suffered a 218-42 setback.

Junior David Adamski (Wilbraham, Mass.) took top honors in the 200 yard freestyle on the men’s side for UMass Dartmouth with a time of 1:47.84, while sophomore Justin Chung (Roslindale, Mass.) won the 50 yard breaststroke in a time of 29.16.  Sophomore Jose Guerrero (New Bedford, Mass.) swept the one and three meter diving competition with respective scores of 255.90 and 259.15 for the Corsairs, who received a winning time of 3:26.66 in the 400 meter freestyle relay from the quartet of Adamski, junior Stephen Barrett (Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshmen Luc Durand (Belmont, Mass.) and Eric Worden (Portland, Maine).

On the women’s side, junior Molly Harrington (Tewksbury, Mass.) posted a second place finish in the 50 yard backstroke (30.57) for UMass Dartmouth, which received a pair of third place performances from junior Sarah Murphy (Braintree, Mass.) in the 200 yard freestyle (2:09.09) and 200 yard individual medley (2:24.51).  Freshman Maddie Kovach (Oxford, Conn.) also recorded a pair of third place finishes for the Corsairs in the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.57) and 100 yard backstroke (1:06.65).

Both UMass Dartmouth squads return to action next Saturday afternoon, as the Corsairs travel to Chicopee, Mass. for dual-meet competition with Elms beginning at 1:00 pm.
