Women's Swimmers Fall at Plymouth State, 146-126

PLYMOUTH, NH-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's swimming team dropped a 146-126 decision to host Plymouth State in a dual meet at the PSU Natatorium Saturday afternoon.

UMass Dartmouth won five events. Junior Kathleen Foley (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill HS) won the 50 yard breaststroke in 33.96 seconds, the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.33, and the 200 individual medley in 2:24.30. Senior Lisa Sands (Taunton, MA/Taunton HS/UMass) won the 50 butterfly in 30.61 seconds, and the 400 freestyle relay team of freshman Brittany Dupuis (Milford, MA/Milford HS), freshman Natalie Brochu (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale HS), junior Kaitlyn Kewriga (Stoughton, MA/Stoughton HS) and sophomore Lindsay Little (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS) was victorious in 4:11.10.

"We swam pretty well," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "We had some good swims, and we had a couple more people qualify for New Englands. We swam a little tired, and times we got are pretty good, considering that we've been training hard. We'll wrap up our dual meet season next weekend."

The Corsairs dropped to 2-9 with the loss, while the Panthers improved to 5-4 with the victory. UMass Dartmouth will return to action when they visit Colby-Sawyer next Saturday.
