Swimmers Advance at NEISDA Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Four University of Massachusetts Dartmouth swimmers and two relay teams advanced to the finals on the first day of action at the three-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Division II and III Championships at the Tripp Athletic Center Friday.
Junior Kathleen Foley (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill HS) was seventh in the 200 yard individual medley in 2:22.02, senior Lisa Sands (Taunton, MA/Taunton HS/UMass) was 10th in the 100 yard freestyle in 1:05.00, freshman Brittany Dupuis (Milford, MA/Milford HS) was 15th in the 50 yard freestyle in 27.09 seconds and sophomore Lindsay Little (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS) was 18th in 27.18 seconds, the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Little, freshman Natalie Brochu (Hopedale, MA/Hopedale HS), Kewriga and Dupuis was 15th in 1:49.94, and the 400 yard medley relay team of Kewriga, Foley, Sands and Dupuis was 10th in 4:27.27.
"We did well, with several people and two relay teams coming back for the finals," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "Everyone swam season bests."
The meet will conclude Sunday.
