Women's Swimming 12th After Second Day at NEISDA Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's swimmers are in 12th place after the second day of action at the three-day New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Division II and III Championships at the Tripp Athletic Center Saturday.
The Corsairs have 153 points. Keene State is first with 649 points.
Junior Kathleen Foley (Haverhill, MA/Haverhill HS) finished 10th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.84, after she posted a time in the trials of 1:11.59, which was five-hundredths of a second off the school record.
Freshman Kim Moore (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) finished ninth in the 1000 meter freestyle in 11:37.25.
Senior Lisa Sands (Taunton, MA/Taunton HS/UMass) was fourth in the 400 individual medley in 5:05.03, the 200 yard medley relay team of junior Kaitlyn Kewriga (Stoughton, MA/Stoughton HS), Foley, Sands and sophomore Lindsay Little (Danvers, MA/Danvers HS), was 10th in 2:00.42, and the 800 yard freestyle relay team of freshman Brittany Dupuis (Milford, MA/Milford HS), Moore, Sands and Foley was 13th in 8:44.99.
"We are continuing to swim strong through the second day," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "Most of our swimmers are swimming seasonal bests, which is what our goal is. We are hoping for a strong finish tomorrow."
The meet will conclude Sunday.
