WILLIMANTIC, CT-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's swimming team won three events, but fell to host Eastern Connecticut State, 107-90 Wednesday evening at the ECSU Sports Center Pool.
Sophomore Kim Moore (Billerica, MA/Billerica HS) won two events for the Corsairs, taking the 500 yard freestyle in 5:53.22, and the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:50.46. Freshman Morgan Cooper (Sunderland, MA/Frontier Regional HS) took first place in the 200 yard freestyle in 2:06.78.
"We had some good swims," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "It's really hard to travel on a weekday after being in classes during the day, and we swam extra yardage during the warm-up and used the meet to get ready for the Little East Conference meet Saturday. We are shooting for a strong performance Saturday, and are excited to be swimming in our pool."
The Corsairs dropped to 1-4 with the defeat, while the Warriors improved to 3-1 with the victory. Both teams will return to action when the Corsairs host the Little East Conference Championships Saturday.
