Dec. 6, 2011

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Sophomore Katelyn Kidney (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical HS/Bryant) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's swimming team has been honored by the Little East Conference.

Kidney has been named second team All-Little East Conference.

Kidney was named second team All-Conference in both the 200 yard freestyle and the 200 yard butterfly as a result of her performance at last Saturday's Little East Conference Championships. At the LEC meet, she finished second in the 200 freestyle in 2:01.06, second in the 200 butterfly in 2:14.18, and third in the 500 freestyle in 5:22.41.

"Katelyn Kidney has been a pleasure to have as a member of our program," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Cathy Motta. "She is a very hard working student- athlete, and she overcame an injury prior to the LEC meet this past Saturday. Katelyn gives 100 per cent effort every day in practice and encourages her teammates to do the same. She has become an integral part to the success of our program this season so far."

The Corsairs will return to action this weekend.
