QUINCY, Mass. – The Lions of Eastern Nazarene edged the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at the ENC tennis courts, defending their home venue with a 6-3 victory on the help of a sweep in doubles play.

How it Happened
The ball bounced the host's way in each of the first six matches on the afternoon. In doubles competition, Sharon Biondi (Barqueisineto, Venezuela) and Lindsey Steelman (Darlington, MD) took down Jenna Lahaie (Lakeville, Mass.) and Jillian Reichert (Marion, Mass.), 8-2. Not to be outdone by their teammates, Adele Duval (Redding, Cal.) and Veronica Jimenez (Lynn, Mass.) coasted to an 8-0 victory over Jaime Fastino (Rehoboth, Mass.) and Mollie McCaffrey (Taunton, Mass.).
UMass Dartmouth received its first victory through Fastino's 6-1, 6-2 defeat over Jimenez at No. 4 singles. Senior Molina Oung (Bourne, Mass.) then followed up with back-to-back victories for the Corsairs, extending her win streak to seven matches upon taking down Alecia Tubbs (Rochester, N.Y.) 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Michelle Aftandilian (Watertown, Mass.) rounded out the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Angeline Vick (Jamestown, N.Y.).
