Krista Chauvin Takes First at Bay State Games
August 06, 2012Sophomore Krista Chauvin (Seekonk, MA/Seekonk HS/Stonehill) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's outdoor track and field team turned in a fine performance when she finished first in hammer throw at the Bay State Games, held last month at Regis College. Chauvin threw the hammer 177 feet, one inch to outdistance Amanda Gricus of Marion, MA and Westfield State, who finished second in the competition. -
Two Corsairs, Women's Team Earn Academic Honors
July 31, 2012Two members of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's outdoor track and field team and the Corsair women's track team have earned academic honors. Junior Jillian Van Ness (Agawam, MA/Agawam HS) and sophomore Krista Chauvin (Seekonk, MA/Seekonk HS/Stonehill) and the UMD women's team earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. -
Krista Chauvin Ninth in the Hammer at NCAA Championships
May 25, 2012Sophomore Krista Chauvin (Seekonk, MA/Seekonk HS/Stonehill) finished ninth in the hammer throw at 168 feet, nine inches at the NCAA Division III Championships Friday night. Chauvin turned in her second best mark of the season at the Burns Track & Field Complex on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Southern California. -
Chauvin to Throw Hammer Friday at NCAA Championships
May 24, 2012For the first time in five years, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's outdoor track and field team will be represented at the NCAA Outdoor Division III Championships when sophomore Krista Chauvin competes this Friday. Chauvin will throw the hammer at the Burns Track and Field Complex on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College, which is hosting the meet. -

Senior Robert Yarbough (Fall River, MA/Durfee HS) has been named Men's Field Athlete of the Week, and sophomore Krista Chauvin (Seekonk, MA/Seekonk HS/Stonehill) was named Women's Field Athlete of the Week. -

Men First, Women Second at LEC Track and Field Championships
April 28, 2012The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men’s outdoor track and field team finished first and the women were second at the Little East Conference Championships Saturday at the Jerry Gravel Track. The Corsair men won the LEC title with 163 points, and also finished first in the New England Alliance with 109 points. The women were second in the LEC with 124 points and fifth in the Alliance with 79 points. Southern Maine won both of the women’s championships. -

April 07, 2012The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's track and field team turned in a solid performance at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex Saturday. The men finished first in a field of 14 teams with 141.50 points, while the women were second of nine teams with 138.33 points. Roger Williams was first in the women's meet with 138.83 points. -
