BOSTON, MA-The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's track and field team had a couple of good performances on the second and final day of the Open New England Championships at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center Saturday.
Sophomore Hymlaire Lamisere (Newton, MA/Newton North/Iona) advanced to the semi-finals in the 55 meter dash, where he finished in 6.64 seconds, the same time he ran in the trials, while junior Jermai Harrison (Brockton, MA/Brockton HS) threw the shot put 38 feet, five inches.
"It was good to for Hymlaire to make the semi-finals," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve Gardiner. "He was one of only four Division III student-athletes to make the semi-finals out of a field of 16 who made it."
The Corsairs will return to action at the ECAC Championships next weekend.
