NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA- Senior Courtney Testa (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's indoor track and field team has earned a conference honor.
Testa has been named Little East Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
At the Open New England Championships last weekend, Testa finished 10th at 3000 meters in 10:13.74. She also was a member of the distance medley relay team that set a school record when they finished 11th in 12:15.75. Testa ran the anchor leg, and ran her mile in 5:09.
"Courtney's award is well-deserved," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve Gardiner. "She has shown tremendous improvement her senior year. She ran a phenomenal leg in the distance medley relay Friday, and then came back with a personal best the next day in the 3000. It punctuates the senior season that she has had."
The Corsairs will return to action at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships this weekend.
