Volleyball Drops 3-0 Non-League Home Decision To Babson

DARTMOUTH, Mass. --  Junior Kristin Carosotto (East Greenwich, R.I.) registered 11 kills and four block solos to lead Babson to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over UMass Dartmouth by game scores of 25-11, 25-17 and 25-11 in a match played Thursday evening at the Tripp Athletic Center.

Sophomore Allie Puccio (New Hartford, N.Y.) added 10 kills in the triumph for the visiting Beavers (8-4), who received four kills from sophomore Sabrina Lechner (Novato, Calif.) along with two kills, three digs and six service aces from senior Catherine Hunter (Duxbury, Mass.).  Junior Elizabeth Cameron (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) collected 18 set assists, five digs and a pair of service aces for Babson, which received five set assists from junior Emily Woodward (Deerfield, Mass.) and five digs from senior Abby Beecher (Pittsford, N.Y.).

Senior Amanda LaCroix (East Freetown, Mass.) notched five kills and six digs in the setback for the host Corsairs (5-4), who also received five kills from junior Samantha Sedano (Valley Glen, Calif.) and four kills from freshman Molly Porch (New Hartford, Conn.).  Senior Kristy Walton (Fairhaven, Mass.) chipped in with three kills for UMass Dartmouth, which received 14 set assists and a pair of digs from junior Jordan Rittberger (Huntington, N.Y.) along with a combined 11 digs from juniors Jillian Sykora (Waterford, Conn.) and Nicole Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.).

UMass Dartmouth heads to Danbury, Conn. on Saturday afternoon to take on host Western Connecticut and Mount Saint Vincent in a tri-match that begins at Noon, while Babson hosts Smith and Keene State in a tri-match on Saturday morning in Babson Park, Mass. beginning at 11:00 am.
