Volleyball Drops Tri-Match Decision At Western Connecticut

DANBURY, Conn. --  The UMass Dartmouth volleyball team dropped a tri-match decision to host Western Connecticut (3-0) and Mount Saint Vincent (3-2) Saturday afternoon at the O’Neill Athletic Center.

Junior Samantha Sedano (Valley Glen, Calif.) collected a pair of kills in the opening Little East setback to the host Colonials (8-6, 2-0 LEC) for the visiting Corsairs (5-6, 0-2 LEC), who received six set assists from junior Jordan Rittberger (Huntington, N.Y.) along with six digs from junior Jillian Sykora (Waterford, Conn.).

Junior Nicole Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded 16 kills in UMass Dartmouth’s non-league setback to Mount Saint Vincent’s Dolphins (2-10), as Sedano and freshman Molly Porch (New Hartford, Conn.) each added six kills in the second contest.  Rittberger recorded 57 set assists for the Corsairs, who received 25 digs from Sykora along with 10 digs from junior Meghan Mullinax (Lake Balboa, Calif.).

UMass Dartmouth hosts Rhode Island College in a Little East outing on Tuesday evening at the Tripp Athletic Center beginning at 6:00 pm EDT.
