PORTLAND, Maine -- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's cross country team finish fifth in the Little East Conference and seventh in the New England Alliance Championships at the Narragansett School on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Remi Digiovanni (Southborough, Mass.) was the first Corsair to cross the finish line with a time of 21:00.37. Digiovanni and Katisha Bellgarde (Methuen, Mass.) were separated by mere seconds as they crossed the finish line as the Corsairs' top two runners. In the Little East, Digiovanni placed in 36th and Bellegarde in 37th, while in the New England Alliance they finished in 48th and 50th.
Freshman Jennifer Miranda (New Bedford, Mass.), who had been UMass Dartmouth's top runner of late, placed in 42nd and 58th.
The Corsairs now prepare for the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship on November 09.
