BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Senior Jessica Connor (Worcester, Mass. / Doherty Memorial) finished inside the top-10 this afternoon to lead the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's cross country team to a fourth place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational.
Bates swept the team titles, winning the women's race with a combined score of 29 points. The host Polar Bears were second with 57 points, followed by Husson (79) and the Corsairs (96.) Husson sophomore Chrissy Larrabee covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 23 minutes, 23.51 seconds to win the individual race.
Connor led all UMass Dartmouth runners for the second straight week with a time of 24 minutes, 07.28 seconds to place ninth overall. Senior Katie Sheehan (Scituate, Mass.) was the second Corsair and 23rd overall, crossing the finish line at 25 minutes, 18.70 seconds. Sophomore Reme DiGiovanni (Southborough, Mass. / Algonquin Regional) and classmate Jen Miranda (New Bedford, Mass. / Greater New Bedford) finished back-to-back with times of 26 minutes, 6.12 seconds and 26 minutes, 10.53 seconds, respectively. Senior Brittani Atkinson (Peabody, Mass.) finished 40th overall to cap the UMass Dartmouth scoring.
UMass Dartmouth will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 11, when the Corsairs travel to Westfield, Mass. for the James Early Invitational.
