DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior Reme DiGiovanni (Southborough, Mass) led the way for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's cross country team, placing 20th overall this afternoon at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational.
Brandeis University won the meet with a total of 49 points, followed by East Stroudsburg (79) and Connecticut College (80).
DiGiovanni was the first UMass Dartmouth runner to finish her home course this afternoon, posting a time of 19 minutes, 56 seconds. Freshman Kirstie Harnden (Fitchburg, Mass.) finished the race 39 seconds behind DiGiovanni, good enough for 109th overall. Junior Nicole Nadeau (Wakefield, R.I.) was the No. 3 runner and 119th overall with a time of 20 minutes, 48 seconds.
Junior Sophie Morawski (Whately, Mass), senior Brittani Atkinson (Peabody, Mass.), junior Jennifer Miranda (New Bedford, Mass.), freshman Christina Ruiz (Taunten, Mass), and junior Rachel Frazier (Mansfield, Mass.) completed the Corsair course.
Allison Decker of East Stroudsburg won the individual race, finishing with a time of 17 minutes, 40 seconds.
UMass Dartmouth will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the Corsairs travel to Brunswick, Maine for the Bowdoin College Invitational.
