KEENE, N.H. - The UMass Dartmouth Men's and Women's Cross Country teams both finished fourth at the Little East Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by at Keene State College on Saturday morning.
The Corsair men totaled 96 points on the day. UMD was topped by freshmen Jason Karakaedos (Peabody, Mass.), who completed the course in 27:33.94 for a 13th overall place. Teammate Sean Herlihy (Walpole, Mass.) finished 15th , while Cyrenus Paquin (Middleboro, Mass.) rounded out the top three for UMD finishing the course in 27:58.99 for a 20th place finish.
In the men's race, Keene State took home their fourth-consecutive LEC title and had the top three finishers in the race.
The UMD women also finished fourth in the race, whose 94-point total was only two points behind ECSU in an extremely close bid for third. The Corsairs improved their margin against the Warriors by 38 points since last meeting on Sept. 19.
The Corsairs' top female finisher, junior Reme DiGiovanni (Southborough, Mass.), came in ninth with a time of 19:47.1. Classmate Sophie Morawski (Whately, Mass.) finished in 13th, and rounding out the top three Corsair finishers was freshman Kirsten Harnden (Fitchburg, Mass.), placing 17th.
Keene State also swept on the women's side for their 16th consecutive LEC Championship.
The Corsairs will have a week-long hiatus before returning to the course next at the NCAA Division III New England Regional meet, which will be held on Nov. 14. at Harkness State Park in Waterford, Conn.
