WATERFORD, Conn. – The Corsair men turned in a 12th-place team finish on Saturday, while the women's squad ranked in at 19th as UMass Dartmouth Cross Country competed in its final regular season meet prior to the Little East Conference Championships at Harkness State Park.

How it Happened
The UMass Dartmouth men's top four runners all ranked in the top 100 in the field of nearly 250 runners at the Connecticut College-hosted event on Saturday. For the fifth meet this season, senior Michael Vaz (Dartmouth, Mass.) was the Corsairs' highest finisher, this time crossing the line in 31st with a season-best 8K time of 25:45. Fellow captain Sean Herlihy (Walpole, Mass.) was the next finisher at 72nd, tying his season-best time at 26:42.
Senior Reme DiGiovanni (Southborough, Mass.) paced the women's team, also for the fifth time this season. She culminated her race in 76th in the field of the 259 women's runners, tripping the timer at 23:58. The next Corsair finisher was freshman Victoria Spitaels (West Newton, Mass.), who continued her strong rookie campaign in 24:29 on the 6K course and placed 107th.
The top-two men's individual finishers were from Tufts, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps claimed the men's team title with 79 points. On the women's end, the Jumbos gathered the team championship, cashing in 63 points while the individual winner was Abigail Nadler from Middlebury, who finished in 21:24.
UMass Dartmouth will host the 2016 Little East Conference Cross Country Championships in two weeks, with the women's race scheduled for 11 a.m. and the men's race for noon.
