UMass Dartmouth junior standout Jessica O’Reilly was named as the Little East Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season on Monday afternoon after posting her third top seven finish of the year last Saturday at the Westfield State James Earley Invitational.
A native of Millis, Mass. and a graduate of Millis High School, O’Reilly covered the 5K layout at Stanley Park in a time of 18:52.57 that was good for sixth place in a field of 214 competitors. Jessica helped lead the Corsairs to a 17th place overall team finish in the event, as she was also honored with the conference’s top weekly honor back on September 3rd after posting a fourth place individual performance at the season-opening Fitchburg State Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational on September 1st.
Head Coach Mike Salem’s squad returns to action on Saturday, October 13th when UMass Dartmouth travels to New London, Conn. to compete at the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn. that begins at 11:00 am EDT.
