FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -- The UMass Dartmouth golf team posted an 11th place finish at the two-day Farmingdale State Invitational over the weekend, as the Corsairs fired a two-day total of 637 on the par 70 Bethpage State Park Red Course.
Freshman Alexander le Gassick (Mattapoisett, Mass.) led the way for UMass Dartmouth by tying for seventh place individually in a field of 60 competitors with a score of 75-74-149, while sophomore Garrett Lane (Tewksbury, Mass.) followed in a tie for 31st place after firing identical rounds of 80. Freshman Charlie Karagosian (Davis, Calif.) was next in a tie for 40th place with a score of 78-85-163, while freshmen Ethan Johnson (Attleboro, Mass.) and Ryan Muniz (Gloucester, Mass.) rounded out the Corsair scoring with respective totals of 80-85-165 and 85-85-170 that were good for 47th and 58th place.
Rosemont took top team honors with a two-day score of 601, as host Farmingdale State finished seven shots back in the runner-up spot and Johnson & Wales followed in third place with a total of 610.
UMass Dartmouth heads to Gorham, Maine next Sunday, October 6th to compete in the two-day Southern Maine Invitational.
