March 2, 2010

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Junior guard Lynley DeAmato (Melrose, MA/Melrose HS) has earned Little East Conference post-season honors.

DeAmato has been named to the LEC's All-Rookie Team.

DeAmato was second in scoring among Corsairs, averaging 11 points per game. She led the team with 2.65 steals per game, was second with 1.78 assists per game, and made 78.9 per cent of her shots from the free throw line. She ranked fifth in the LEC in free throw percentage, and was fourth in steals.

"As a first-year player, Lynley did an admirable job running the point, which is not an easy task in the LEC," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Amanda Van Voorhis. "With so many new faces in the program, she brought stability to our offense. She was a consistent scoring threat I believe other teams had to prepare for".

The Corsairs finished the season at 10-16 overall and were 5-9 in the Little East Conference. They earned a post-season tournament bid and lost to Southern Maine, which finished second in the LEC Tournament and advanced to the NCAAs.
