KEENE, N.H. -- Junior Nina Bruno (Agawam, Mass.) netted a hat trick to lead Keene State to a 9-0 Little East Conference field hockey victory over UMass Dartmouth Saturday afternoon at the Owl Athletic Complex.
Junior Kayla Klein (West Brookfield, Mass.) and freshman Clara Hunkins (Greenland, N.H.) added two goals each in the triumph for the host Owls (4-4, 2-0 LEC), who jumped out to a 3-0 halftime advantage before taking control of the contest with a four-goal third quarter outburst.
Junior Rachel Loseby (Hartford, Vt.) earned the win in goal with 35-plus minutes of action for Keene State, while junior Katelyn Banalewicz (Fall River, Mass.) made 12 stops over three quarters of play in the setback for the visiting Corsairs (1-4, 0-2 LEC). Freshman Ryley Pond (Athol, Mass.) recorded three stops in the final 15 minutes in her collegiate debut in net for UMass Dartmouth.
UMass Dartmouth hosts Clark in a non-league outing on Tuesday evening at Cressy Field beginning at 7:00 pm, while Keene State entertains Castleton in a Little East Conference clash on Wednesday evening at the Owl Athletic Complex that begins at 6:30 pm.
