BRISTOL, R.I. -- Both UMass Dartmouth swimming & diving teams dropped dual-meet decisions to Roger Williams on Saturday afternoon at the RWU Aquatics Center, as the Corsair women fell by a 221-50 margin while the Corsair men dropped a 233-55 decision to the Hawks.
Freshman Danielle Klash (Gardner, Mass.) recorded a pair of second place finishes in the 500 (5:42.95) and 1000 yard freestyle (11:28.27) on the women’s side for UMass Dartmouth, which received a second place performance in the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.97) from freshman Morgan Beebe (Ellington, Conn.). Seniors Kayla Lovy (Londonderry, N.H.) and Sarah Murphy (Braintree, Mass.) registered respective third place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle (27.52) and 400 yard individual medley (5:03.16) for the Corsairs, who also received a third place performance in the 50 yard backstroke (31.82) from freshman Katherine Ferri (Springfield, Mass.).
Junior Dodhy Saint-Amand (Brockton, Mass.) continued his solid season on the men’s side for UMass Dartmouth, as he took top honors in the three meter diving (212.77) competition and was the runner-up in one meter diving (199.80) on the day. Sophomore Nathan Motisi (Ellington, Conn.) added a third place finish in the 500 yard freestyle (5:19.30) for the Corsairs.
Both UMass Dartmouth squads host Elms in dual-meet action next Saturday afternoon at the Tripp Natatorium beginning at 1:00 pm.
