Track Hosts UMass Dartmouth Invitational

April 9, 2010

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA-Thirteen teams will comprise the field as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth will host their first home track meet of the 2010 outdoor season.

The Corsairs will host the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Complex. The action starts at 11 a.m. with the final event scheduled to begin at 4:25 p.m.

The field is the largest it has been in recent years.

"We should battle Worcester State and Bridgewater State for the men's title," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Steve Gardiner. "In the women's meet, we should battle Worcester State, which is very strong in the sprint and jumping events and is the pre-meet favorite. Worcester State won the MASCAC championship indoors and was second behind Little East champion Southern Maine in the Alliance Championships."
