PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Senior Nicole Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) notched 13 kills and nine digs to lead UMass Dartmouth to a 3-0 Little East Conference volleyball victory over Rhode Island College Wednesday evening at the Murray Center.
Sophomores Mallory Singer (Succasunna, N.J.) and Emma Aillet (Deer Park, Tex.) chipped in with 11 and 10 kills, respectively, in the triumph for the visiting Corsairs (7-11, 2-3 LEC), who swept the contest by game scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22. Junior Alivia Connors (Derry, N.H.) added four kills for UMass Dartmouth, which received 21 set assists, 10 digs and a pair of service aces from senior Jordan Rittberger (Huntington, N.Y.). Freshman Courtney Carreiro (Dartmouth, Mass.) collected nine set assists, six digs and two service aces for the Corsairs, who received 16 digs, six set assists and a pair of service aces from senior Jillian Sykora (Waterford, Conn.).
Sophomore Amelia Murphy (North Attleboro, Mass.) registered eight kills in the setback for the host Anchorwomen (7-13, 1-5 LEC), who received 17 set assists and eight digs from senior Jacqueline Jutras (Foster, R.I.) along with five kills and 11 digs from junior Jenaeya Evans (Marietta, Ga.).
UMass Dartmouth travels to Keene, N.H. on Saturday afternoon for a tri-match with host Keene State and Suffolk beginning at Noon, while Rhode Island College hosts UMass Boston in a Little East Conference outing on Tuesday evening at the Murray Center that begins at 7:00 pm.
