Final Stats
BOSTON, MA-Host Emmanuel won two of the three doubles matches and went on to defeat the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's women's tennis team, 6-3, in a non-conference match at the Winsor School Saturday.
The Corsairs' only doubles win came at number three, when junior Liz Girczyc (Attleboro, MA/Attleboro HS) and freshman Hannah Schulze (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford HS) defeated Jenna Reid and Taryn Medeiros, 8-4.
UMass Dartmouth won at number three and four singles. At number three, sophomore Angela Pollard (Portsmouth, NH/Portsmouth HS) defeated Amanda Woznicki, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, and at number four, sophomore Allison Furtado (Fairhaven, MA/Fairhaven HS) downed Jenna Reid, 6-4, 7-6.
The Corsairs dropped to 1-1 with the defeat, while the Saints improved to 1-0 with the victory. UMass Dartmouth will return to action when they visit Newbury Thursday.
