SID Downloads & Media Information

UMass Dartmouth's Office of Athletics Communications promotes and publicizes, on both a national and international level, each of UMass Dartmouth's 19 intercollegiate NCAA varsity sports that compete on the Division III level as a member of the Little East Conference and the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference. The primary responsibility of Athletics Communications to disseminate information to members of both the print and electronic media as well institutions that UMass Dartmouth competes against. Among Athletics Communications' many varied duties are press/media relations, editorial releases and feature stories, game and special event programs, newsletters, statistical maintenance and record keeping, web-content management and collaborative work with UMass Dartmouth's Office of Communications.

ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS SPORT INFORMATION ONLINE FORM - (NOT FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENT-ATHLETES):
If you are a current student-athlete (not a prospective SA) at UMass Dartmouth, we ask that you please fill out the following questionnaire CLICK HERE. You can be as detailed or non-detailed as you want. The more information you provide, the more that we can put in your bio. We do ask that first-year student-athletes and any individual new to the team fill out the form before the beginning of each academic year. If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail the Athletic Communications office at either e-mails above.

STATISTICS POLICY:
Any requests for changes to statistics from a game/match, must be brought to the attention of the head coach within 24 hours of the conclusion of the contest. Student-athlete requests for changes made directly to the Athletic Communications Office will not be entertained. All requests must be given to the head coach, who will then work with Athletic Communications to make any changes needed.

INTERVIEW POLICY:
All interviews should be coordinated through the Athletic Communications Office. Players and coaches are available to media throughout the week, but please allow 24 hours notice. Post game interviews are coordinated following the event and can be conducted on the fields/court or outside the locker rooms following a cool down period.

MEDIA CREDENTIALS:
Because seating is limited in the Cressy Field press box, print media members are advised to request seating at least 72 hours in advance of the athletic contest to be attended.

Radio and television stations are advised to contact the Athletic Communications department at least 72 hours in advance of the event to reserve seating. Since there is limited space available for electronic media, special accommodations may be required. If there is not sufficient space in the press box / press row, preference will be given to commercial radio and television stations.

Due to limited space in the press box / press row areas, only working media members are permitted in the press box. Working media members must contact the Athletic Communications office in advance, as listed above. Special requests may directed to Director of Athletic Communications.

Please note: Since seating is limited in the press area, UMass Dartmouth Athletics does not allow visiting schools to live stream any of Corsairs home contests. Exceptions to this policy may only be granted by Director of Athletic Communications.

PHOTO POLICY:
UMass Dartmouth does require that you obtain a sideline pass in order to shoot any athletic event held at the University. Please contact the athletic communications office at least 72 hours in advance to reserve a sideline pass. ONLY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS shooting for UMass Dartmouth, the visiting school or approved media outlets will be issued a sideline pass and the University reserves the right to revoke photography privileges based upon sideline conduct during the game. Parents are not allowed field access for any home games. 

Pursuant to NCAA regulations and this Policy, the field level and/or "sideline" area is strictly reserved for players, coaches, and for those who are performing a service associated with action on the field of play and for administration of the game. Pursuant to NCAA regulations and this Policy, members of the general public are not permitted at field level or on the playing field at any time. The University reserves the right to remove from the sideline or field level any individuals not possessing a valid credential.

Credentials issued DO NOT grant access to team bench areas. Those with credentials are permitted to take photos on the sideline nearest to the bleachers/press box. For additional safety, those with credentials are not allowed in the end lines.

Media Credentials will NOT be issued on the day of the game at the gate for football, unless an individual has contacted Amie Canfield in Athletic Communications at least 24 hours prior to the game.

Violation of this policy can result in game management staff issuing a warning, revoking sideline credentials, and/or ejecting violators from the venue.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY:
Playing and competing for UMass Dartmouth is a privilege, not a right. Student-athletes at UMass Dartmouth are held in high regard and are considered as role models in the community. It is imperative that student-athletes represent their teams and University in a positive manner at all times. Social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, VINE, TikTok, Pinterest, and other digital platforms remain popular and are used by student-athletes at UMass Dartmouth. Participation in such networks has both positive appeal and potentially negative consequences. It is important that UMass Dartmouth student-athletes be aware of these consequences and exercise appropriate caution if they choose to participate. TELEVISION/RADIO POLICY:
If you wish to provide television or radio coverage of an athletic event at UMass Dartmouth, please contact the athletic media relations staff at least 24 hours prior to the event. Phone lines and internet connections are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at most of our athletic facilities when available.
