KEENE, N.H. -Â Junior
Kim Hockhousen scored twice for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth lacrosse team, but Keene State was too much as the home team ran away with a 19-2 victory Wednesday night in New Hampshire.
The Corsairs fall to 2-13 (1-5 LEC), while the Owls improve to 5-9 (4-2 LEC).
Keene State jumped ahead to a 5-0 lead before Hockhousen netted two consecutive goals, with the second assisted by sophomore
Widline Thomas, to cut the deficit to 5-2 at the end of the first.
That was the end of the scoring for the Corsairs as Keene State scored eight in the second, added four more in the third, and sent two more home in the fourth for the 19-2 final.
UMass Dartmouth and Castelton will battle on Saturday at 3 p.m. for the final spot in the upcoming Little East Conference Tournament. The team will also honor seniors
Kylie Dias,
Bella Mancini,
Kara McLaughlin,
Sara Orton, and
Christine Pye. The Corsairs will also celebrate Girls and Women in Sports Day.
