BOSTON, Mass. - Backed by a strong doubles effort, the UMass Boston women's tennis team posted a 5-0 decision over UMass Dartmouth in the Little East Conference Championship Semifinals on Thursday afternoon at BC High School.
The top-seeded Beacons advance to the LEC Championship, improving to 10-2 on the season, while the Corsairs conclude their fall season with a 9-7 record.
In doubles action, the Beacons first flight team of Lydia Chan and Zainab Patel recorded an 8-3 victory over UMass Dartmouth senior captains

From two, Ayonna Stuppard and Elena Albano notched an 8-3 win against Corsairs' duo of sophomore
Bailey Clarke and rookie
Maddie Gonzalez. The final match at three saw Meagan Carney and Sandra Watson post an 8-5 victory against UMassD senior

Zuri Walters.
In singles, the Beacons made it a 4-0 contest as Albano recorded a 6-1, 6-0 win against Clarke at five. The home team sealed the decision, earning the 5-0 victory as Chan bested Gonzalez at two by a 6-0, 6-2 score.Â
