DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Powered by a strong effort from the top to the bottom of the lineup, the Rhode Island College Anchorwomen posted an 8-1 win over UMass Dartmouth in Little East women's tennis action on Wednesday afternoon. RIC moves to 7-1 overall and remains a perfect 4-0 in conference play, while the Corsairs are now 5-5 and 2-3 in the Little East.
Doubles action was a sweep for the visitors as Lauren Macera and Erica Bothelo recorded an 8-4 win over Corsairs senior captains

Ailey Riddick at one. From two, Amiah Sommer and Amara Devine recorded an 8-4 win over UMassD sophomores

Zuri Walters, while from three, Anna Vygoder and Li hsiu Hou were 8-5 victors over Corsairs senior

In singles action, Vygoder gave the visitors the 4-0 lead from four, posting a 6-0, 6-0 win against Clarke. Next up, Sommer recorded a 6-0, 6-3 win against Riddick at three for the match clinching fifth point.Â
Five was up next as Devine posted a 6-2, 6-0 win against Lemieux, while from two, Botelho was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Walters. At six, Hou was a 6-0, 6-3 winner against UMass rookie
Kahlan Keene, while the Corsairs earned their lone point in the match at one as Winter notched a solid 6-3, 6-1 in over Macera in an outstandingly played match by both competitors.
UMass Dartmouth returns to the courts on Friday, traveling to the U.S. Open to play at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., against John Jay at 7pm.
