DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Director of Athletics and Recreation Lori Hendricks announced the hiring of Emma Auclair as the next Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. In her new role, Auclair will work with Director of Athletic Communications, Amie Canfield, in the promotion and coverage of all 19 Corsairs' programs.
"It is important to our program that we make visible the quality of individuals that we are attracting as student-athletes and coaches to our teams. In addition to the breadth of her experience with game stats, Emma is going to make a significant difference, helping to tell our stories of success," stated Hendricks. "My thanks to Amie Canfield and the rest of the search committee for their work to attract such a strong candidate pool and for us to land such an exceptional professional as Emma."
Auclair joins the Corsairs staff after serving the past season as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Division II Saint Anselm College. During her tenure, she helped oversee the communications efforts for all 21 of the Hawks varsity programs, along with managing a crew of student-workers and interns.
In addition to oversight of the Saint Anselm Athletics website, Auclair also helped enhance the social media presence for the Hawks. Auclair also served as the statistician and digital content creator for the 2023 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship.
Auclair came to Saint Anselm following a one-year stint at Colby-Sawyer College, where she worked as the Assistant Sports Information Director as part of the NCAA Ethnic Minorities and Women's Internship Grant. During her time at Colby-Sawyer, she helped oversee the Chargers 23 NCAA Division III varsity athletic programs and supervise over a dozen student-workers and interns.
Auclair assisted in the Chargers multi-camera broadcast production, the athletics podcast series "Charged Up", and the student-athlete award show the "Chargies". She also helped elevate the Chargers social media presence through engaging graphics and videos coupled with the standard game recaps and stories.
Auclair graduated from Saint Joseph's College of Maine in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications and minors in Sports Management and Business Administration. She served as a sports information intern for four years at Saint Joseph's College creating social media graphics, team schedule posters, and feature videos to help promote Monks Athletics. Auclair also was a member of the Monks women's soccer team and helped them win their first conference championship title in program history.
During the 2021-22 academic school year, Auclair worked as a Marketing and Multimedia Specialist for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). She was tasked with developing social media campaigns for the conference in addition to facilitating GNAC Championships.
