WESTFIELD, Mass. - Paced by several solid efforts, the UMass Dartmouth women's cross country team finished 12th overall at the James Earley Invitational - hosted by Westfield State. The Corsairs saw sophomore
Liv DeSimone lead the way, finishing 72nd of 167 competing runners.
DeSimone notched a time of 21:49.6 to pace the Corsairs on Saturday. Close behind were junior captains
Sarah Lynch and
Sophie Owen - who recorded 73rd (21:54.1) and 74th (21:54.1) overall. Rookie
Raeleigh Levesque was next across for UMD, posting 87th overall with a time of 22:36.6. Senior captain
Tori Schweitzer was 88th on the day with a mark of 22:37.3, while sophomore
Serena Carnes was 89th with a time of 22:37.4. Rookie
Isabelle Chekares rounded out the top seven for the Corsairs, finishing 102nd overall with a time of 23:13.8.
Sophomore
Lylah Thibeault posted a time of 23:23.8 for 108th, while senior
Emma Madruga crossed in 24:27.6 for 124th overall. Rookie
Kilee Hancock had a time of 25:14.6 for 130th overall, while junior
Kyla Palmer had a time of 25:24.4 for 134th on the afternoon. Rookie
Ruby Pazdyk rounded out the finishers for UMass Dartmouth, posting a time of 26:29.1 for 145th.
The Corsairs return to action next Saturday, traveling to New London, Conn., to compete at the Connecticut College Invitational.
