BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The UMass Dartmouth women's cross country team returned to action on Friday afternoon, competing at the multi-divisional Paul Short Run – hosted by Lehigh University – at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course. In a field of 39 teams, the Corsairs posted 38th overall.
Leading the way for the Corsairs was junior captain
Sarah Lynch, who posted a time of 23:39.1 in the women's brown 6k event to finish 195th overall in the field of 327 runners. Next across was junior captain
Sophie Owen, who notched a finish time of 24:26.4 for 254th overall.
Rookie
Alexah Pedder came across the finish next for the Corsairs, recording a mark of 24:27.0 to earn 256th, while sophomore
Ashlyn Byrnes posted 275th on the day with a time of 25:09.9. Senior captain
Tori Schweitzer ran a time of 25:32.7 – good for 287th, while sophomore
Natalya LaVita was 289th with a mark of 25:36.5.
Rounding out the top seven for the Corsairs was sophomore
Alexia Gonsalves, who finished in 25:56.5 – earning 296th overall.

UMass Dartmouth returns to action on October 11, heading to Westfield, Mass., for the James Earley Invitational. Men's race gets underway at 10:30am, while the women start at 11:30am.
