PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Little East Conference has announced its year-end honors in cross country and UMass Dartmouth saw five student-athletes earn recognition. The Corsairs were paced on the men's side by All-LEC First Team selection,
Cameron Thompson, while the women's side was led by First Team honoree,
Sarah Lynch and All-LEC Second Team finisher,
Sophie Owen.
Additionally, UMass Dartmouth saw juniors
Ben Bairos and
Serena Carnes named to their respective All-Sportsmanship Teams.
Thompson, a junior captain from Sherborn, Mass., finished third overall – his highest career finish – at the 2025 Little East Championship last weekend. He posted a time of 25:24.00 on the 8k course, leading the team as the top finisher for the sixth time this season.
A junior captain from Dumont, N.J., Lynch recorded her best LEC Championship finish last Saturday, taking sixth overall with a time of 23:18.30 in the 6k event. It marked her first LEC All-Conference honor.
Owen, a junior captain out of Smithfield, R.I., captured her first career conference honor as well last weekend. She finished ninth overall for Second Team recognition with a time of 23:32.80.
Bairos, a junior from Pembroke, Mass., was named the men's All-Sportsmanship Team recipient for UMass Dartmouth. At the LEC Championship, Bairos posted 75th overall with a time of 29:38.60.
Carnes, a junior captain from Dartmouth, Mass., was the women's selection for Sportsmanship – an award new this year that is chosen by the head coach. Carnes finished 41st overall in the women's event, posting a time of 26:06.70.
UMass Dartmouth, which finished fifth on the men's side and third on the women's at the LEC Championship, returns to action on November 15. Select members of each squad will represent the Corsairs at the 2025 NCAA DIII East Regionals – hosted at the Hopkinton Fair Grounds in Hopkinton, N.H. The men's race gets underway at 11am, followed by the women's event at 12pm.
