GORHAM, Maine – The UMass Dartmouth women's lacrosse was bested by the University of Southern Maine, 17-7, in the Quarterfinal game of the Little East Conference (LEC) Tournament. The Corsairs finish the 2025 season with a 9-9 overall record and a 3-5 mark in conference play.
The Huskies snagged a quick 2-0 lead in the opening period of the game with Katelyn D'Appolonia notching a goal and an assist. First year
Claire Altshuler cut Southern Maine's lead in half with her score at the 7:50 mark off the assist from sophomore
Jennifer Lins. After Cierra Hill gave the Huskies a 3-1 edge, sophomore
Maddy Allen buried the ball into the back of the net in the last two minutes of the quarter to make it a 3-2 game heading into the second period.
Allen converted two free position goals to give UMass Dartmouth their first lead of the contest at 4-3 in the second period. Anna Byers evened the score up at 4-apeice before D'Appolonia found the back of the net to put Southern Maine ahead 5-4 at the break.
The Huskies took control in the third period scoring nine straight goals and extending their advantage to 14-4. After D'Appolonia recorded her fourth score of the afternoon to make it 15-4, Allen posted her fourth goal off the helper from first year
Jenny Lipanovich with 10:31 on the clock. First year
Adella Mabee scored on the man-advantage followed by the 70
th goal of the year for Allen late in the fourth period, but the Corsairs saw their season come to an end after falling by a final score of 17-7 on the road.
Allen ended the contest with a game-high five goals for five points along with five draw controls and went 3-for-8 from the free position spot. Altshuler and Mabee each recorded one goal and two shots apiece for the Corsairs. Lipanovich tallied two assists for two points while and Lins registered her 16
th assist of the season.

Keira Bushey each scoped up three ground balls apiece. Nees also produced three draw controls as well as one caused turnover in the game.
Bushey concludes her debut season with a 9-9 record in net for UMass Dartmouth after allowing 17 goals and registering 12 saves against the Huskies. Her counterpart produced nine stops and allowed seven goals in net for Southern Maine.
