SALEM, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth women's tennis team defeated Salem State University, 4-3, on the road in Little East Conference (LEC) action. The Corsairs improved to a 4-0 Little East mark while the Vikings dropped to a 2-1 league record.

Saige Croce picked up the lone doubles win at No. 3 by a final score of 6-4.
Salem State extended their lead to 2-0 after earning the first singles win of the afternoon at the No. 2 position. First year
Mya Dean, recently named LEC Rookie of the Week, took down her Vikings opponent 6-1, 6-3 to cut the home team's advantage in half. Walters then earned her fourth singles win of the season at No. 1 singles to tie the score up at 2-2.
Sophomore
Sofia Beltran gave the Corsairs a 3-2 edge after battling at No. 4 singles to defeat Samanatha Tenney 7-5, 6-4. Ryann Tripp evened the match up at 3-apiece with her three-set win at No. 5 singles for Salem State. First year
Ava Aguiar clinched the conference victory for UMass Dartmouth after battling against Delaney Cox in the No. 6 spot. Down 7-5 after the first set, Aguiar fought back to take the next two sets (6-2, 6-4) for the Corsairs and sealed the 4-3 win over the Vikings.
UMass Dartmouth hosts Bridgewater State for their next LEC match on Saturday, October 4 starting at 12:00 p.m. from the Corsairs Tennis Courts.
