KEENE, N.H. – It was a solid day of action for the UMass Dartmouth men's cross country team, which competed at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday in the Red Championship 8K. The Corsairs – who finished 22nd overall – saw two runners hit personal bests, while two others recorded season's best marks.
Pacing the effort was junior
Michael Gemelli, who ran a personal best time of 27:41.3 to place 105th overall. Sophomore
William Johnson was next across, notching a season's best mark of 28:35.3. Senior
Ronan Maloney ran a mark of 28:53.3 for 176th overall, while classmate
Tyler Scanlon had a personal best time of 28:57.9 for 182nd overall.
Sophomore
Edward Yeboah then hit a season's best time of 29:00.9 for 185th as rookie
Evan Solger finished 238th in 30:33.0. Rookie
Isaiah Gagne crossed the line in 30:54.1 for 239th, while senior
Ben Bairos placed 244th in 31:12.1.
UMass Dartmouth is back in action on October 17, traveling to New London, Conn., for the Connecticut College Invitational. The junior varsity race begins at 11am, followed by the varsity event at 1pm.
