CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Corsairs powered their way to two wins over Elms this afternoon, winning 97-61 on the mens side, and 96-73 on the women's.
"Today was a great day for us to get up and race in a 25-meter pool, a distance we don't normally swim" said head coach Mike Kroll. "This let us race and swim our events without focusing on the times. We had a great team effort and are in a good position heading into the Louise Goodrum invite next weekend."
The Corsairs consistently found their way onto the podium with
Isabella Mitchell leading the way.
Mitchell came in first-place in both the 50 meter, and 100 meter freestyle events.
Amaya Pride,
Emiyah Setalsingh, and
Kasey Joyce all earned first-place finishes in their respective events (50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 400m freestyle).
On the mens side,
Dylan Briggs hauled in the Corsairs only first-place finish of the day (50m breaststroke).
Logan Vandenburgh came in second in the 50m freestyle, while teammate
Dominick Alves came right behind him in third.Â
Beau Labbe had a silver finish in the 100m IM with a 1:17.88 time.
The Corsairs will turn their attention to next weekend, as they will head back to Dartmouth to host the Louise Goodrum invitational. First events are slated to begin at 12pm noon.
