Women's Lacrosse Falls to Huskies in Regular Season Finale

Corsairs shoulder tough loss to Southern Maine to conclude 2026 season

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The UMass Dartmouth women's lacrosse team played their final regular season game on Saturday, hosting the University of Southern Maine in Little East action. The Corsairs shouldered a tough loss on Senior Day, finishing the 2026 campaign with a 4-13 record, going 1-7 in conference action.
 
Prior to the game, the Corsairs recognized their two graduates, including graduate student attack and captain, Emma Terino, along with junior attack Jennifer Lins – who will graduate early this spring. Both were celebrated by family and friends
 
The Huskies opened the game's scoring, posting nine straight tallies in the first quarter, including four from Katelyn D'Appolonia. In the second quarter, Southern Maine put four more goals up on the scoreboard.
 
Out of the halftime intermission, the Huskies continued to attack with five goals until the Corsairs broke through with 56 seconds to play in the third quarter. On a solid individual effort, rookie midfielder Carleigh Swenson notched her 26th of the season.
 
The fourth quarter saw the Corsairs tack on their second goal of the game as junior midfielder Maddy Allen tallied her 53rd goal of the season on the man-up at 6:07.
 
Allen finished with the goal, adding three ground balls and three caused turnovers with a draw control. Rookie defender Myra Watkins-Rodriguez posted four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Swenson posted the goal with wo draw controls, as rookie midfielder Cat Whitehouse had a ground ball with three draw controls.

In goal, sophomore Keira Bushey shouldered the loss, making eight saves through the first 30 minutes of the game. Rookie Irelynn Marshall came on in relief, playing the second half with six saves.
