In 2021, Amanda Van Voorhis assumed a new role in the UMass Dartmouth Athletic Department as the Associate Director of Athletics for NCAA Compliance.

Van Voorhis previously served at the Director of Athletics from 2013-2021. During that time, the Corsairs captured six Little East Conference championships and have seen teams advance to the respective league tournament title games on six other occasions under Van Voorhis's leadership. Additionally, UMass Dartmouth has earned 12 All-America honors since her appointment. including the crowning of an individual national champion in men's outdoor track & field.

During her tenure, Van Voorhis has overseen facility upgrades and renovations that have greatly impacted the success of several Corsair programs.  Amanda has increased the number of full time coaches on the Corsair staff to eight, and she was instrumental in the naming of a new department Faculty Athletic Representative.  Revenue generation and community partnership have been key focus areas of her tenure, as annual donors have increased tenfold and have yielded over $100,000 per year.  Van Voorhis has worked together with University leaders to forge partnerships with schools and groups in the surrounding South Coast community, and she has played a key role in the continued growth of the school's award-winning Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.  An active administrative voice on the regional and national levels, Van Voorhis serves as a Little East Conference officer in the role of treasurer.

Academic excellence has been a hallmark of during the Van Voorhis years, as UMass Dartmouth student-athletes have achieved consistently at a high level.  Over the past two years alone, the University has earned five CoSIDA Academic All-District accolades that includes the school's first-ever two-time Academic All-America honoree.  Hundreds of student-athletes have also earned spots on their respective conference all-academic teams, and she created the department's first Athletic Director's Honor Roll to recognize the hard work being done in competition, in the classroom and in the community.

A 1998 graduate of Springfield College, Van Voorhis served as UMass Dartmouth’s head women’s basketball coach for six seasons, as she became the first Corsair mentor to register three consecutive winning seasons in over two decades.  Amanda's 2012-13 squad reached the 20-win plateau for the first time in school history while advancing to the Little East Conference championship game. 

Prior to her arrival on the South Coast, Van Voorhis served for seven seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Salve Regina University, where her teams compiled a 143-51 mark and won four Commonwealth Coast Conference championships.  She also served in assistant coaching roles at Western New England and Ithaca along with a stint at Division I Brown.
