Chelsie Marshalek

Chelsie (Boroski) Marshalek was named an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Corsairs Sports Medicine Staff in June of 2023. 
 
Marshalek worked with Corsair teams and student-athletes in a Per Diem capacity during the 2022-23 academic year. In addition to her time at UMass Dartmouth, Marshalek also served as an Injury Prevention Specialist/Athletic Trainer at Southcoast Health for the past seven years.
During her time at Southcoast, she worked with local high school athletes, providing direct medical care, evaluations, while incorporating injury prevention through education, intervention and rehabilitation. In addition to her work at Southcoast, Marshalek spent a year as a rehabilitation aide at Bay State Physical Therapy.
 
 "I am excited for the opportunity to join the Corsairs Sports Medicine staff," said Marshalek. "Being able to continue working at UMass Dartmouth, as well as bringing my prior work experience and time as a Division III student-athlete, allows me to be successful and best able to support the Corsairs student-athletes."   
 
Marshalek brings a wealth of ATC experience to the UMass Dartmouth staff, including clinical experience at Bryant University, St. Andrews School-RI, and Tufts University.
 
As an undergraduate at New England College, Marshalek was a four-year member of the women's ice hockey team. She played in 56 games as a defender for the Pilgrims, totaling five goals and 11 assists for 16 points. During her senior season, she led the team in assists, totaling eight in 19 games.

Marshalek, who is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer and hold additional certifications in Licensure, Heads Up Concussion, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from New England College in 2013. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Athletic Training at Bridgewater State in 2016.
